Pentamidine is an antiprotozoal agent used as the isethionate salt to preventi and treat diverse phylum of eukaryotic microorganisms. It is a nonpyrogenic, lyophilized product. Pentamidine isethionate is a white crystalline powder; soluble in water and glycerin; insoluble in ether, acetone, and chloroform.
